Reserve the Chapel

Request an opportunity to reserve the chapel for your upcoming event.

The Chapel at Howard University has been the setting for worship services, artistic, scholarly and other significant events that help to prepare a new generation of leaders.

  • Requests to use either Andrew Rankin Memorial Chapel or Dunbarton Chapel must be made on the forms listed below.
  • All events scheduled in the Chapel must be approved by the Office of the Dean of the Chapel.
  • When you complete the form —and receive a confirmation from our staff—a non-refundable deposit of $100.00 will be required and applied towards the total Chapel Fee.

Wedding Reservation

The fees below reflect the use of the Chapel for up to three hours:

  • Dunbarton, $950

  • Andrew Rankin Memorial Chapel
    • Student, $650;
    • Faculty, Staff and Alumni, $750;
    • No Affiliation with Howard University, $950.

Funeral / Memorial Service

The Office of the Dean of the Chapel incurs fees when preparing the site and ensuring its availability for use. A nominal fee is required to help offset these charges. For Saturday requests, add $200 to the amounts listed below. 

  • Dunbarton
    • Student, Faculty, Staff and Alumni $650;
    • No Affiliation with Howard University, $850.
  • Andrew Rankin Memorial Chapel
    • Student, $450;
    • Faculty, Staff and Alumni, $550;
    • No Affiliation with Howard University, $650.

Altar Flowers

Monetary gifts for the purchase of Sunday floral arrangements are welcomed in honor or memory of loved ones and special events.

The arrangement can be obtained at the end of Chapel worship services by the person(s) making the gift.
