Yet, many young residents continue to face barriers related to education and economic mobility. The Youth Empowerment and Community Development initiative seeks to uplift Memphis’ next generation alongside current community partners doing the necessary work to continue Memphis’ rich legacy.

Howard University Alternative Spring Break is excited to align itself with Memphis’ enduring spirit of social justice and commitment to progress, working hand in hand with local leaders to empower youth and strengthen communities.
