Newark, New Jersey, is a city full of rhythm, resilience, and pride, where every block has a story and every voice has power. An often untold story lies in the barriers to safety, education, and opportunity that many in the community face.

Howard University Alternative Spring Break is excited to serve in Newark, focusing on Violence Prevention and Community Development. We will partner with local organizations to support youth programs and help create safer, healthier spaces for young people to thrive. Through hands-on service, mentorship, and community collaboration, we aim to support Newark's youth and the community as a whole in building their own narrative.
