Tampa, situated on Florida's Gulf Coast, is characterized by its palm-lined streets, inviting residents and visitors alike to enjoy its stunning beaches and diverse cultural offerings. Howard University is pleased to announce the launch of its inaugural Alternative Spring Break trip to this resilient city, which has demonstrated exceptional recovery following the impacts of Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton.

Throughout our stay in Tampa, we will concentrate on disaster relief efforts and the development of pathways to housing stability. Collaborating with local organizations, our initiatives will support efforts in rebuilding, restoration, and community renewal. Participants will engage in both direct and indirect service projects, including environmental restoration through park and beach cleanups, maintenance assistance, and donation sorting at local food banks and community centers. Our aim is to make a meaningful contribution to the Tampa community while fostering collaboration and promoting sustainable renewal.
