Restorative Justice and Youth Empowerment

At the core of Chicago, Illinois, is a vibrant community driven by a deep commitment to social advocacy and progress. Yet systemic inequities continue to create barriers for many residents, particularly its youth.

For over ten years, Howard University Alternative Spring Break has proudly served the city, building meaningful relationships with its residents and growing alongside the community. This year, we are excited to serve under the initiatives of Youth Empowerment and Community Development. Our work will include serving in schools and community programs through mentorship, leadership development, and hands-on projects that create safe, welcoming spaces for the next generation to thrive. By partnering with local organizations and community leaders, we strive to continue investing in the city and fostering its ongoing growth.
